5-Year Standpipe Pressure Testing
NFPA 25 requires a 5-year hydrostatic pressure test for manual wet, manual dry, and semiautomatic dry standpipe systems, and for piping between each fire department connection (FDC) and its check valve. This test confirms the standpipe can hold pressure safely and remain leak-free under emergency conditions.

what the 5-year pressure test entails:
A 5-year pressure test is a comprehensive check to confirm that your standpipe system can safely hold and maintain the pressure required during a fire emergency. During the test, our technicians perform the following:
Static Pressure Application
System is filled and pressurized to 200 psi for 2 hours (or 50 psi above maximum operating pressure if higher).
Leak & Joint Inspection
Inspect all visible piping, valves, and fittings for seepage or pressure loss.
Check fire department connection piping up to the check valve for leaks or structural defects.
Provide a detailed report and certification showing the system meets NFPA 25 requirements.
