5-Year FDC Hydrostatic testing
Mandatory inspection to certify your Fire Department Connections are functional, code-compliant, and leak-free.
This test is required every 5 years to evaluate the strength and leak resistance of your building’s Fire Department Connections (FDCs). Our licensed techs conduct high-pressure testing, inspect internal check valves, and ensure compliance with NFPA 25 and local codes. You'll receive a detailed report with results, photos, and certification for your records.

Why the FDC Matters
The Fire Department Connection (FDC) supplies high-pressure water from fire trucks to your sprinkler system during a fire. If the FDC is clogged, leaking, or damaged, firefighters may be unable to deliver water effectively—putting lives and property at risk.
The Importance of FDC Signage

FDC signage ensures your fire connection is clearly marked, visible, and identifiable by emergency personnel. Missing or illegible signage can delay response times and lead to citation under fire codes. We inspect your signage for compliance and can provide updated signage if required.
What We Inspect During the 5-Year Hydrostatic Test
✓ Hydrostatic Pressure Test
The FDC is pressurized (typically to 200 psi) to assess strength and leak-resistance.
✓ Test Duration & Pressure Recording
Exact pressure and duration are logged, and whether the pressure held per NFPA 25.
✓ Leak & Damage Inspection
Visual and physical inspection of all fittings, valves, and piping under pressure.
✓ Check Valve Internal Inspection
Technicians open the FDC check valve (both wet and dry side) to assess internal condition.
✓ Photographic Documentation
Photos of check valve internals are captured.
✓ Functionality & Accessibility Check
We confirm your FDC is clearly labeled, accessible, and free of obstructions or damage.
