Provincial Fire Codes mandate that a building’s fire alarm system be tested to CAN/ULC-S536 (Canadian Standard for Annual Fire Alarm Testing). This means that EVERY device that forms part of your building’s fire alarm system must be tested to ensure it will function adequately in an emergency. If you rent an apartment, your Landlord will provide you with appropriate notification that entry to your unit is required to test the smoke alarms, fire alarm audible signal devices, and any system fire detectors. Even if you own an apartment (or condominium) in a building with a fire alarm system, the devices must still be tested. You cannot refuse access to your unit as this test is MANDATED by the Fire Code.
Our goal at Alltron Systems is to provide annual in-suite inspections that are minimally disruptive to residents. The key to achieving this is to ensure that our technicians are well trained and efficient. We have been able to complete 150 suite buildings in under 2 hours without comprising the quality of our inspections.
